We have been more focused on Social-Emotional Learning and asked the students "How can you make the world a better place?"
The 6th graders had recently visited the HRDC Warming Center during Cougar Day and were very affected by the mission of the warming center and decided they wanted to help.
We took all of the students to the Warming Center so they could learn more about the program, who uses the Warming Center and what their needs are.
Katie and Angela were both inspired by the students questions and their passion to help. Many of them offered to volunteer at the Warming Center and we are looking into setting up a volunteer schedule with various non-profits in the community.
The Montana Education Program will be hosting a donation drive benefiting the HRDC Warming Center. Watch for more info about the drive, which will run until November 30.
